Why only Sicily? Why more than business, it's friendship
Most people ask me: "Why only Sicily? Why not Spain or Greece?"
The answer is simple: it’s about the people behind the oil. I didn't start Zlatá Sicílie to be just another importer. I started it because of a friendship with a specific farm under the Sicilian sun in Contrada Gallizzi, in the Agro di Enna. This is the true "Navel of Sicily," a rugged, high-altitude landscape far from the tourist traps, where the soil and the sun work harder to produce something extraordinary.

When I visit them, I’m not a "business partner", but a guest at their table.

It’s Personal, Not Just Business

When you buy from a big shop, the oil has often passed through three or four different hands (brokers, distributors, and large-scale bottlers) before it reaches the shelf. By the time it gets to you, the story is lost.

With us, there is no "middleman" in a suit. There is just my friend’s farm in Contrada Gallizzi, their passion for the land, and my commitment to bringing that liquid gold directly to you in Prague. I know exactly when these olives were pressed. I know the soil they grew in. I’ve seen the calloused hands that harvested them. When I bring this oil to the Czech Republic, I’m bringing a piece of that friendship to your kitchen.

The "Volcanic" Difference: The Soul of Enna

The olives in Contrada Gallizzi grow in a unique microclimate. Being inland and elevated, the trees face cooler nights and intense daily sun. This "stress" is what gives the oil its vibrant character and its high antioxidant count. This Sicilian oil is sincere and full of life.

Why "Direct" Actually Matters

Because I import directly from my friends, the oil doesn't sit in transit for months. It travels straight from the press in Sicily to our warehouse. The oil is bottled on site, but we also get oil in metal tin cans which we can use to refill your bottles in Prague. By cutting out the intermediaries, we ensure that the polyphenols - the healthy "soul" of the oil - are at their peak when they reach your kitchen.

I am proud to share this discovery with you. This is more than a product; it's a personal handshake between a Sicilian farm and your home.
What Olive Oil Packaging is Best

Why metal tins?

Protection: Metal is completely opaque, offering the best protection against photo-oxidation (light damage), compared to glass.

Sustainability: Tins are lightweight, reducing the carbon footprint of transport from Sicily to Prague.

Refill Safety: While glass is excellent for home storage, professional-grade coated metal tins are a standard for preserving quality in larger volumes.
